McLaren Is Officially Joining Formula E in 2023

McLaren has now confirmed previous rumors by officially announcing that it'll be joining Formula E in 2023. The decision marks yet another expansion in the British automaker's racing division, which currently encompasses Formula 1, IndyCar and Extreme E. Instead of creating its own team from scratch, however, McLaren will be acquiring the Mercedes-EQ Formula E Team, absorbing the reigning ABB FIA Formula E World Championship team into its roster.
